Lorkathar is a female half-orc firetamer of the Fire Ashari. As an NPC in Exandria Unlimited she's played by Aabria Iyengar.

Description

Lorkathar is an extremely tall, female half-orc with green skin with yellow tattoos, dark hair tied into two pigtails, and red eyes.[1] By late 842 PD she was in her middle years, and her hair was starting to go a little gray.[3]

Biography

In 812 PD, the Council of Tal'Dorei summoned the Fire Ashari to Tal'Dorei to help heal the land, from the destruction of the red dragon Thordak, to limited success. Lorkathar was one of the Fire Ashari summoned and was the leader of a group of firetamers from Pyrah who kept watch over Flamereach Grove from Flamereach Outpost, a fortress constructed as a base for the druids and elemental specialists to heal the Scar of the Cinder King.[1]

Lorkathar was still at Flamereach Outpost three decades later.[4]

Character Information

Equipment

Assuming Lorkathar is typical of Ashari firetamers, she wears red dragon scale mail and carries a scimitar.[5] In one depiction, Lorkathar wore laminar armor on her shoulders and arms and carried at least one sword.[6]

Abilities

Lorkathar presumably has at least the powers of a typical Ashari firetamer, laid out below.[7] Firetamers are druids who can conjure and dominate creatures of elemental fire (and are almost always accompanied by such creatures) or transform into a fire elemental themselves. They are resistant to fire damage, can speak Ignan (the fire dialect of Primordial), and are proficient in Arcana and Nature.

  • Flameform: Twice per short rest, as a bonus action, firetamers can transform into a fire elemental for up to five hours. They cannot cast spells in this form, but can expend spell slots as a bonus action to regain hit points according to the level of spell slot extended. If they fall unconscious, they return to their humanoid form.
  • Flamecharm: Once per short rest, a firetamer can cast Dominate monster on a fire elemental or other creature of elemental fire.
