Loras is one of the two apprentices of Eldamir the Wise of the Septarion and therefore a member of the Ring of Gold in Avalir. As an NPC in Exandria Unlimited: Calamity, Loras is played by Brennan Lee Mulligan.

Description[]

Loras is a beautiful, black-haired elven man who, when he met with Patia Por'co and Eldamir on the day before The Replenishment, wore a partial mask over his face and a multicolored cloak.[1]

Loras's arcane power is greater than that of anyone else, except for Eldamir the Wise, whom Loras apprentices under.[2]

Biography[]

Exandria Unlimited: Calamity[]

The morning of the day before the city of Avalir was to rejoin its terrestrial sister city Cathmoíra, Loras brought Eldamir with him to a planned meeting with Patia Por'co, telling her that Eldamir wished to meet her face to face. After they spoke, Loras explained that Patia was being considered for a now-vacant position as Eldamir's second apprentice on the Ring of Gold, formerly held by Volucia. He also told her the Hall of Prophecy had been shut down because the oracles needed to rest, and that some artifacts from Vasselheim found in the remains of Vespin Chloras's apparently failed ascension ritual had been brought aboard the city and were being investigated by Cerrit Agrupnin. Loras asked Patia to share Cerrit's findings with him directly, bypassing the normal chain of command and the Magisterium.[3]

Later that evening, Cerrit Agrupnin and Loquatius Seelie found accidentally-recorded footage of a conversation nine years earlier between Lacrytia Hollow, Vespin Chloras, and Loras of the Weaver's mask, wherein Vespin suggested that the Raven Queen's "breakthrough" had opened the way for others to ascend to godhood, and ended by saying, "The City of Crowns (Avalir) bears the Tree of Names."[4]

When Nydas and Zerxus visited the Hall of Prophecy, they found that Loras had barred entry to all, but told the doorkeeper they had permission from him. There, they learned all of the oracles had gone mad. Volucia, Loras's counterpart on the Ring of Gold, had been trying to help the oracles understand what was happening, but after an argument with Loras where she was overheard saying, "If these gifts harm us, then we should not accept them," Volucia had broken her staff, renounced magic forever, and allegedly left the city.[5]

During Asmodeus' attack on Avalir, Patia Por'co briefly returned to the Archsept to take a piece of her grandfather's statue. While there, she encountered Loras, spitefully calling him a traitor and telling him to "go fuck [him]self" for his apparent collusion with Hollow and Chloras. Loras seemed to confirm this collusion, telling Por'co that he would outlive her.[6]

Minutes later, while Loquatius Seelie was preparing to make an announcement to all of Avalir and Cathmoíra, Loras teleported into the Herald's Tome and ordered Seelie to tell Avalir's people to give their spell-ether into the Etheric Net in order to sustain the city. Seelie lied that he planned to do exactly that, and when Loras began Sending to his master Eldamir, Seelie took the opportunity to trap him within a Wall of Force. Seelie continued with his planned broadcast, telling Avalir's citizens to evacuate, while Loras watched in a rage. After finishing the broadcast, Seelie turned to the trapped Loras, glibly resigned from his post, and left the Herald's Tome.[7]
