Livandra was Bor'Dor Dog'Son's mother. She has been mentioned but not appeared in Critical Role.

Description[]

Personality[]

Livandra was a religious woman who trusted the gods.[1]

Biography[]

Livandra lived on the Menagerie Coast near Port Damali with her husband and her children and at some point in her life she was blessed by the Wildmother, obtaining powers because of it. Her second son, Bor'Dor, inherited his magic from her.[2]

Livandra taught her sorcerer son about magic and the good nature of divinity, although they kept that magic private, far from official temples and cities, traveling discreetly as leather workers.[3] However, one day Bor'Dor was attacked by a group of rich kids and, trying to defend himself, cast Inflict Wounds, almost killing one of them.[4]

In order to protect her son, Livandra took responsibility for the incident, believing that she would be ok, protected by the gods, and she was arrested. Her husband and her other son tried to save her, but they were crushed by the local forces, who overwhelmed them without effort. It was in that moment that Livandra lost her faith, and in desperation cast Vitriolic Sphere on herself and her captors.[5] Bor'Dor witnessed that and ran away, apparently assuming his mother died.[6]

Trivia[]

  • It is possible that she was a sorcerer like her son, or even an aasimar due to the divine influence of the Wildmother, although it isn't confirmed.
  • She seemed to have a certain affinity to poison and acid, given her known magical object and spell.
  • Through the Scrying spell, Livandra's Dagger of Poison connected with a modest but well-furnished house that Bor'Dor said he didn't recognize.[10] It is possible that Livandra lived in that house before forming a new life with her husband, or that the dagger was made and/or enchanted there.
