Leo Amicus is a "bohemian bachelor who moves through the storied echelons of society with an acute journalistic eye for the eccentric and uncanny."[1] He is played by Taliesin Jaffe.
Description[]
Leo is in his 40s and well put together, although somewhat foppish in manner.[2] His clothes and accessories are of fine quality.[3]
He enjoys writing, and keeping busy is a comfort to him.[4] Although his profession is nominally that of a journalist, he is in fact a professional man of leisure.[5]
Leo and his Aunt Leanna have a somewhat guarded relationship although she said she cares about both him and his estranged father. When she urged him to take the first step to reconcile with him, noting they were both stubborn, Leo refused, saying the favor he was asking for wasn't enough for that.[6]
Biography[]
Background[]
Twenty-three years ago, Leo's sister bought him a birthday present of a clockwork device from a curio dealer. As a game, he and his teen-aged friends (who called themselves "The Dawn Society") set the device in the center of a circle drawn on the ground, and Leo wound it. It began ticking, and the lights went out: there was something in the dark. Leo heard his sister scream while the two others present had their bodies broken by whatever was behind the eyes Leo saw in the darkness. Leo survived but the others did not.[7][8] He woke up institutionalized from the trauma.[9]
Leo and his father Raymond had not spoken since his sister's death at the time these episodes begin.[10] Leo primarily blames his mother for the estrangement, although his father went along with it.[11]
Leo's cluttered but opulent flat is located in the Red Lamp district of Newfaire on the second floor of 802 Tivery Lane. It is in a wedge-shaped building above a coffee shop named The Endless Well.[12] It serves as the chapter house for the Circle of the Crimson Mirror.[13] In the living room, directly opposite Leo's bedroom door, is a vanity table with a crimson red mirror above it.[14]
