Leeta[4] is a half-elven guard of Keyleth of the Air Ashari and the Master of Defenses in Zephrah.
Description[]
Leeta has brown eyes and short blond hair tipped in teal. Her septum is pierced. She looks very similar to her sister Maeve, and presumably also to Baernie, the third triplet. When encountered by Bells Hells, she was wearing intricate leather armor and a half cape.[5]
Biography[]
Leeta was born at some point before 813 PD as the daughter of Derrig and Nel. She was part of a triplet set, having two sisters, Baernie and Maeve, and a younger brother called Will.[6][7] She trained to become a member of the Tempest Blades, like his brother and who would become his husband, Orym, and eventually she took Derrig's place[8] as the personal bodyguard of Keyleth after he was killed in the attack on Zephrah by shadow assassins circa 837 PD;[9] she also lost her brother Will in that attack. According to Orym, by 843 PD Leeta had become the Voice of the Tempest's right hand[10] and the Master of Defenses for the village, just like her father had been. She was also a good sister-in-law to Orym, keeping in touch with his own mother, Alma, to keep her company, sometimes telling her more than she should probably know.[11]
Leeta was present with a group of other Ashari warriors during the activation of the Malleus Key by Ludinus Da'leth at the Apogee Solstice, about halfway up the crater wall, and witnessed the moment when the Silver Sun crushed against the site.[12] After the Voice of the Tempest was injured in that battle she was brought back to Zephrah and Leeta made sure she was well protected and that her weakened state was kept secret. When Bells Hells visited them Leeta greeted her brother-in-law, glad to see him again, and accompanied him and his friends for a bit before they left on a mission to the Grey Valley to which their sister Baernie had previously been sent and failed to return.[13] While she was with her, Fearne noticed that Leeta seemed nervous about who to trust, trying not to think that perhaps the loyalty of those around her was doubtful.[14]
When Orym returned to Zephrah with Baernie Leeta hugged her sister, very happy to see her.[15]
Relationships[]
Orym[]
Orym and Leeta loved each other very much and treated each other as brother and sister; they also seemed to have a certain friendly competitiveness regarding their physical abilities.[16] Leeta made sure Orym's mom, Alma, didn't feel alone while he was away.

- Her name could come from the Old Norse leita (to seek/search). The name itself could be a reference to her role as a vigilant protector of Keyleth and their people.
