Lawrence was a private tutor and lover of Taryon Darrington, and later became his husband.

Lawrence in his early fifties (826 PD) had shoulder-length, greying black hair and a grey-white chin beard.[5]

Lawrence was hired by Tary's father as a tutor, but he and Tary developed feelings towards each other. After Howaardt found out about this relationship he fired and banished Larry from Deastok.[6]

Taryon later found Larry working as a tanner in Port Damali. Larry quit that life and joined the Darrington Brigade.[7]
"The Adventures of the Darrington Brigade" (Sx49)[]
Lawrence and Taryon got married at some point before 826 PD,[8] and the event was the last time all the surviving members of Vox Machina gathered at the same place at the same time between then and 843 PD.[9]

- His name comes from a French form of Laurentius, meaning "man from Laurentum" in Latin; Laurentum means "town of bay trees" in Latin. Alternatively, it can derive from Lavrenti, meaning "the bright/shining one" in Old Greek.
- He shares his name with Lawrence Lorelei, a member of another noble house in the region.
