Lacrytia Hollow is the Dean of the Throne of Necromancy in Avalir, and a member of the Octothurge and the Ring of Silver.[4] As an NPC in Exandria Unlimited: Calamity, Lacrytia Hollow is played by Brennan Lee Mulligan.

Description[]

Appearance[]

Lacrytia wears a silver circle around her neck as a sign of her membership in the Ring of Silver.[5]

Personality[]

Biography[]

"Excelsior" (E3x01)[]

Lacrytia invited Purvan Suul to the Replenishment party at the Palazzo Por'co. There, she confronted him, saying that his mistress, The Raven Queen, had concealed information about her ascension to godhood. Affronted, Purvan abruptly left. When Cerrit Agrupnin questioned Lacrytia as to whether anyone had ever come close to replicating the Raven Queen's feat, she denied any knowledge, but Cerrit's ring which detects falsehoods pulsed.

"Bitterness and Dread" (E3x02)[]

Patia learned that a cultist disguised as a hodmedod porter had brought a gift from Dean Lacrytia Hollow to her party. In a side room, he waited for the right moment to do something, but instead had his throat slit by Cerrit. The gift proved to be a non-magical vial of poison, with the note, "When the time comes, this will be the easier way out. All things end: Lives, stories, even ages." Lacrytia had meanwhile left the party with the excuse of apologizing to Purvan Suul. In reality, she had cast Invisibility on herself and pursued Purvan meaning to kill him until she was interrupted.

Later, Loquatius and Cerrit found an eight-year-old recording of a conversation between Vespin Chloras, Lacrytia, and Loras of the Weaver's Mask, talking about the pact with the Gau Drashari and why that had made re-creating the Raven Queen's Ritual of Seeding so difficult. But, Vespin said, Avalir bears the Tree of Names, which the Arboreal Calix was built over and around 120 years ago.

When the Ring of Brass rushed to the helm of the city to investigate the apparent murder of the helmswoman, Lacrytia confronted them just outside the building.

"Blood and Shadow" (E3x03)[]

Just moments after the killing of Helmswoman Akami Rowe, Hollow and her entourage confronted the Ring of Brass in the street outside the Helm. They were joined by Magister Milus Phren, an ally of Hollow, who revealed himself to be a horned devil in disguise. The two groups engaged in battle, and members of the Ring soon began to hear magically communicated reports of other attacks across the city, focused on the Eldritch Batteries which provide much of Avalir's power. The fight outside the Helm continued, and Hollow was killed when her Circle of Death spell was ensnared within Patia Por'co's Resilient Sphere and its energy was redirected back into herself.

Using memories extracted by Nydas Okiro from one of Hollow's underlings during the fight, the Ring later discovered that Hollow had altered the memories of her associates in order to obscure her true purpose of exploiting the Replenishment once Avalir docked with Cathmoíra. This dispelled the notion that Hollow, along with Vespin Chloras and others, had been attempting to stop Avalir from docking, as the Ring had previously believed.

Quotations[]

  • (to Purvan Suul) "It is so striking, Champion, that the Matron of Ravens ascended to the heights of divinity, but saw fit to of course, erase her magical research. We live in an age in which knowledge, as our Keeper of Scrolls can attest to, is shared. Seems rather interesting that the greatest arcane achievement of the age would be erased. Feels somehow not in the spirit of the age."[16]
