The characters in this page are canonically LGBTQ+. All entries are based on explicit confirmation either in-game, by text, or stated by their players. Characters range from main and guest player-characters to non-player characters across all Critical Role media.
In "The Ominous March" (1x109), Scanlan is tricked into drinking a Philter of Love by Vax'ildan and Grog, after which he first sees Percy and falls in love with him for the duration of the effect.[3] Scanlan's player, Sam, was asked by Dungeon Master Matthew Mercer how adventurous Scanlan had been in his various exploits, as the love philter only worked if the character already found the other person's gender and species attractive. Sam responded by saying "A human man? That was teenage years, baby. I've gone much further than that since then."[4]
In "Jugs and Rods" (1x94), Tary describes a past relationship with a male tutor 10 years his senior named Lawrence, and in "The Chapter Closes" (1x115), Tary is revealed to have found Lawrence and "picked up where they left off". In "The Adventures of the Darrington Brigade" (Sx49), which takes place approximately fourteen years after the end of Campaign One, Tary and Lawrence are a married couple.[6]
Before cementing his relationship with Keyleth, Vax often flirted with Gilmore and kissed him after officially ending their courtship.[9] He was also in a relationship with a girl named Cyriel in his teenage years, and a man named Thorn a few years before joining Vox Machina.[10] Additionally, Vax stated multiple times his attraction to both men and women, once while masquerading as Scanlan in Vasselheim.[11]
The dragon J'mon Sa Ord's humanoid form is androgynous and described as looking both and neither male nor female;[19] referenced as a boy or a girl,[20] and using gender-neutral pronouns.
Kima was presumed to be a lesbian in reference to Grog's vain attempts of romancing her.[citation needed] In "The Feast" (1x24), Allura implied Kima's sexuality when Tiberius Stormwind suggested a double-date with them and Grog. Allura stated that Grog and Kima would not be a good match.[21] Eventually, Kima married Allura Vysoren.[22]
When asked by Veth and Yasha about his capacity for a relationship, Caduceus responded: "Nah, I don't have time for that....I get it, it's just not really my thing. [I'm] not really into anybody. I enjoy what you all have going on, it's a lot of fun to watch...but nah, it's not really for me".[32]
As for visibility in game, in "Whispers of War" (2x18), Molly purchased a night with two companions, and when asked for his preference in male or female, he responded with "surprise me". The two companions ended up being a man and a woman.[43] Molly also tends to express himself in an androgynous manner, with sometimes a shift in expression (feminine, masculine, etc), suggesting that he experiences shifts in gender identity, with a comfort with he/him pronouns being used.
Before meeting the Mighty Nein, Yasha was married to Zuala, a fellow member of the Dolorav tribe. Their marriage, which was kept secret until its discovery by the tribe, served as an integral part of Yasha's backstory and overall character development. She is currently in a newfound relationship with Beauregard Lionett following the events of "Worth Fighting For" (2x126). Additionally, Ashley Johnson included a song titled "Pussy is God" on her second Yasha playlist, captioning it "Favored Terrain. sry not sry".[47]
Keg often found Beauregard to be attractive, her actress Ashly saying "Keg is aroused" in response to many of Beau's actions.[50][51] She had a sexual affair with Beau as well.[52]
Reani was planning to marry an elven woman named Fen before their disagreements split them apart, and she showed her attraction to Essek Thelyss in game[53] and to Caleb, as confirmed by player Mica Burton on Talks Machina.[54] Additionally, Reani gave a rose to and shared a kiss with Beauregard, afterwords spending unspecified alone time together.[55] Mica later joked on Pub Draw that Beau and Reani had slept together, which Marisha then confirmed on the following episode of Talks Machina.[citation needed]
While talking to Jester about his past and perspective on his life in "The Threads Converge" (2x85), the Gentleman said it was "easy to get lost in alcohol, drugs, women and men..."
Leylas and Quana Kryn are both women in a relationship with one another that withstand through multiple lifetimes. Matt stated on Talks Machina that "they've both lived lives as men, women, both, neither" and that "gender and sexuality make a lot less sense when you've lived multiple lives in multiple shoes, and it just becomes people".[66]
Lucien manifested some level of attraction and flirtation towards Caleb Widogast,[67] and had slept with men in the past.[68] As the Nonagon, he was genderfluid.
Marion referred to her clientele as "an army of men, women, and people in between".[69] Matt later confirmed on Twitter that "Marion caters to all clients she deems worthy, regardless of gender".[70]

Umadon is attracted to more than one gender, and the succubus and incubus that were manipulating him used both male and female bugbear forms to seduce him in dreams.[74]
In the eighth episode of 4-Sided Dive, "Why Are You Like This?" when asked about Ashton's name, Taliesin stated that the reason why he chose it was because it sounded "punk and genderless" and that it was inspired by a friend of his named Ash.
Chetney is notably flirtatious, and although he focused his attention mostly on Fearne, he has expressed attraction to men as well, on several occasions, including Khalil Benes[77] and Manad;[78] he also joked with his friends about a brief romance he had had with a dwarven glassblade of Uthodurn while they weren't present.[79] Moreover, he said he would "offer his services" of sexual relaxation to Laudna, Orym, and Ashton if they felt left out due to his threesome with Deanna and Fearne.[80] Chetney also showcased gender non-conformity, earlier on in the campaign, when he wore a grey dress to the Ball that Bells Hells was invited to in "Make It Fashion" and "A Dance of Deception."
Fearne is very open about her promiscuity and as such has openly been flirtatious with others regardless of race or age whether it's men (like Pretty and Chetney) or women (like Opal and Poska), even stating that she'll "probably make [her] rounds" through all of Bells Hells.[81] She shared a passionate night with Chetney and Deanna Leimert in the Savalirwood.[82]
FCG uses he/they pronouns, and so far has only shown romantic feelings towards FRIDA, an aeormaton like him. Given the origin of both as beings created outside of the understanding of gender and sex that other humanoids and cultures have, their relationship can be seen as inherently queer.
She and Laudna always had a close friendship, expressing often how much they loved each other. However, after several days' separation, Imogen, who was no longer able to read Laudna's thoughts (due to her Circlet of the Hidden Eye) asked for permission to kiss her, and the warlock agreed.[84]
In her youth she had a crush on Whitestone Andy, although it was unrequited (and not at all deserved).[85] She and Imogen always had a close friendship, expressing often how much they loved each other. However, after several days' separation, Imogen asked for permission to kiss her, and the warlock agreed. Laudna initiated a second kiss after the sorcerer assured her that she was not a bad person,[86] and in later episodes, Laudna would call Imogen her girlfriend.
Christian Navarro confirmed that FRIDA used they/them pronouns, although being fluid enough to feel comfortable if other pronouns were used instead.[92]
She had a passionate fling with Chetney Pock O'Pea in the past and eventually married a man called Dustel. After being resurrected she eventually met Chetney again, joining his group, and although she was still attracted to him, she also noted the attractiveness of Fearne Calloway. This eventually led to the fact that, as the two gnomes prepared to spend time together in the Savalirwood, Deanna invited the faun, and the three of them shared a passionate night.[93]
In their first appearance in the episode, "A Dance of Deception" (3x13), Gavis was described as, "androgynous and reminiscent of David Bowie." When the soon-to-be Bells Hells met her, he was wearing a broad-shouldered gold garment, flat shoes, and "fantastic" eye make-up. Ze first met Dorian and Fearne during a party that the group was invited to by interrupting the two's conversation, where Gavis would introduce zemself and state that he goes by "any pronouns."
Dancer had a tempestuous on-again-off-again intimate romantic relationship with Esmer, the female proprietor of Finders Takers in Bassuras.[95] When in combat FCG suggested that she should use Pussy II (her automaton) against General Ratanish, she said "There is a first time for everything", implying she's not attracted to men.[96]
Duasad, a noble from the Clovis Concord and member of the Golden Grin, is a transgender man, having transitioned as a young adult with the help of a mage.[97][98]
During a conversation about relationships in which King Talviel stated his days of romance were long past, Imogen's Detect Thoughts allowed her to see the memory of a younger elven man Imathan remembered with sadness, strongly implying he was a former romantic interest.[103]
Being under the effects of Dorian's Charm Person the tiefling not only acted as a friendly acquaintance, but he started behaving flirtatiously around the genasi, suggesting some level of attraction towards him.[105]
The Captain of the skyship Silver Sun, they were described to be non-binary when Matthew Mercer introduced them to Bells Hells, using they/them predominantly. Although the Captain had a multitude of pronouns used for them by either NPCs, or by the cast players, occasionally (such as she/her and he/him), that would usually be corrected back to they/them.
Elam and Tetrarch Umejii, both female, spent a night together before the latter for the Iron Authority in a research mission. It is heavily implied they have an affair going on.[120]

James Haeck confirmed they created this archfey as a response to the lack of non-binary characters they had encountered in TTRPG books by 2016.[129][130]
Thorn is attracted to men. He flirted with Vax'ildan and kissed him multiple times during Vax's stay with the miners.[142][143][144] He also flirted with Vex'ahlia.[145]
Dren was in love with Devan Bluebutton, a female halfling and her partner in crime. Even when confronted with the possibility that Devan might betray her, she stayed loyal to her lover.
Peter Pan is mostly attracted to women, but is also attracted to men.[155] During the course of the cruise, he has flirted with female and male characters, and shared a passionate kiss with the Hatter.

Although Wendy is only seen flirting with male characters, Peter says that she once had a summer fling with a mermaid.[157][presumed]
After a classmate referred to them as a woman, AF corrected them, saying they don't identify as one. AF's pronouns are a new thing they're trying out, and it's what they feel most comfortable with.[159] AF has shown interest in people of various genders, having kissed both Jamie Wrenly and Sasha Murasaki.
