Kamala the Maven (pronounced /kəˈmɑːlə/) is the orc owner of the Weary Way tavern in the Lantern Spire of Jrusar. As an NPC, she is played by Matthew Mercer.

Appearance[]
Kamala is a female orc.[4][5] She has long, somewhat curly black hair with wisps of gray. She wears thick, rough-looking glasses that look almost sandblasted, and in her capacity as tavernkeeper of the Weary Way she wears a leathern apron.[6]
Personality[]
Kamala is described as wearing a "boisterous smile" on her face.[7] She speaks with a very deep, rough voice.

Background[]
Kamala says she earned the name "maven" due to her expertise in caring for people who get drunk in her tavern.[8] Imogen Temult and Laudna became familiar with her establishment during their sojourn in Jrusar trying to gain access to the Starpoint Conservatory libraries.[9]
Campaign Three: Bells Hells[]
Seeking brunch at a location less crowded than the Spire by Fire, Imogen led the party to the Weary Way Tavern.[10] Kamala served them and commented they were an "interesting" party.[11] The party later spoke to her about getting access to Dugger's room in the tavern.[12]
