Kalutha is one of the many islands of the Shattered Teeth, the archipelago that was created from the destruction of the continent of Domunas.

Description[]

The island is dominated by three large mountains and beautiful green trees.[1] It has black pebble beaches, and cliffs with basalt formations similar to hexagonal columns, as well as caves and tunnels.[2] Some of the tunnels go below the island itself, and fill with water as the tides change.[3]

Most of the island (more than 30 miles) is covered in dense forest and rainforest, obscured by ever-present fog which, while thinner that that over the surrounded ocean, is dense enough to obscure a clear view of the surroundings.[4]

Kalutha is dominated by three central mountains that seem to face one another, and in their center is a deep chasm or sinkhole, a dark space inside which the Great Tree of Atrophy could be found.[5]

History[]

At some point after the beginning of the Calamity the archdruid Evontra'vir of the Gau Drashari, after many years of prolonged life connected to nature, and having survived the creation of the Shattered Teeth, transformed into a tree spirit known as the Great Tree of Atrophy, whose roots are said to wind between the realms of life and death, as he watches over the cycle of renewal.[6]

Efterin, the leader of the Hishari, a group that was created and destroyed at the beginning of the 9th century after the Divergence, claimed to have traveled a lot. He boasted about having the blessing of Evontra'vir, implying he had visited Kalutha.[7]

Society[]

The Ossended Host is the largest political presence on Kalutha,[8] with the Aishio people being one of the cultures living there.[9]
