Jaktur Krishtan was, by 836 PD, the margrave of Kymal, Tal'Dorei and a businessman, owning multiple casinos in the city. One casino, The Maiden's Wish, was founded and run by his father, Calis Krishtan.
Personality[]
Jaktur was flamboyant and showy, traits considered unusual for a leader in Tal'Dorei, but for which he was loved by the citizens of Kymal. As margrave, he delegated most of his tasks to advisors to allow him free time to indulge in his extravagant lifestyle as a wealthy public icon.[1]
History[]
Jaktur Krishtan was the son of Calis Krishtan, an entrepreneur from Ank'Harel who moved to Kymal and opened a casino called The Maiden's Wish that boosted the city's previously stagnant economy. Over the following two generations, Kymal's economy recovered, and its citizens named Jaktur margrave of Kymal following the Chroma Crisis,[1] replacing margrave Tumner Wann.[5]
While his status as a celebrity-turned-politician was unusual in Tal'Dorei, his extravagant lifestyle was not. As margrave, Jaktur delegated most of his duties to his advisors and his majordomo Prudence, leaving him free to enjoy his celebrity status, including making nightly appearances in his father's casino and organizing galas and street fairs.[1]
In or just before 836 PD, Krishtan stepped down as margrave, and Prudence became acting margrave.[4] Around this time, Jaktur also inherited the ownership of the casinos previously managed by his father.[6]
