The Chandei Quorum was doing a poor job of combating the Ivory Syndicate, leading to speculation that some of its high ranking members might be working with the syndicate directly.[4]
During the apogee solstice of 843 PD their leader, Levtonia, escaped prison due to the weakening of certain magics.[5]
