The Islands of Anamn form an archipelago in the Ozmit Sea, not too far from the Hespet Archipelago.[1] Vesrah, home of the Water Ashari, is located here on a circular reef, near a rift to the Elemental Plane of Water.[2]

Vesrah is between three islands dense with tropical vegetation. The sands just below the surface of the water are bleached a bright white.[3]

Sailing from Emon southwest to Vesrah takes six to seven days, and involves passing north of the Hespet.[4][5] Sailors usually steer clear of the area due to its reefs.[6]

Near Vesrah, through a forest of an underwater plant life, there is a hollow underwater tower made out of yellowish-white sandstone. It is attached to the reef above by a single pillar of stonework that seems to be built or carved out of the reef. The tower contains the Aerie of Torrent, a rift to the Elemental Plane of Water, emitting a dull green, faint, sparkling glow.[7]

Trivia[]

The word Anamn forms the first five letters of the word anamnesis, a word of Greek origin which also has a specific importance to the Kryn Dynasty far away from these islands. Anamnesis literally means "remembrance", and in Platonic epistemology it refers to recalling lost knowledge from a past existence.[8] Those who are reborn through the Luxon beacons, as consecuted individuals of the Kryn Dynasty are, begin to undergo anamnesis when they reach puberty, literally recalling memories from their past lives.[9] In the Dynasty's creation myth, the Luxon sparked the elemental forces of Exandria that gave birth to the Primordials, the elemental titans, and later broke itself into beacons to begin a cycle of rebirth for the souls of these children.[10]
