Igor was a wereboar and a member of the Slayer's Take. As an NPC, he was played by Nick Williams.
Description[]
Igor's features made him easily identifiable as a wereboar.
He had a blunt and bold personality, but he was also reasonable and grateful with those who deserved it.[1][2]
Biography[]
Background[]
At some point Igor proved his capabilities as a monster hunter and joined the Slayer's Take in Vasselheim. As of 839 PD, he acted as a teammate/guard for Grimm Heldwell, another member of the guild.[3]
"The Frozen Puppet" (RTx03)[]
Igor and Heldwell met with Timpani Guff and his new team outside of Himblewood and listened to them as they claimed to have defeated undead spirits controlling the corpse of the dragon Rimefang. They weren't believed, however, and when they were leaving Heldwell reminded Igor not to tell Osysa about the meeting.
"The Voiceless Village" (RTx04)[]
The next day Igor found Timpani and his group in Josgren's Hollow, threatening them and telling them to stop meddling in the business of the Slayer's Take. His loud voice, however, attracted the attention of the local whispers, and the wereboar was swallowed by the spore-filled fog.
"The Hungry Cloud" (RTx06)[]
The Re-Slayer's Take and their ally, Janet, rescued the victims of the undead spirits of the area by defeating the latter in their layer. As they were all leaving town Igor expressed his gratitude, and told the adventurers that he would speak well of them to the rest of the Slayer's Take, admitting that if it were up to him they would already be official members.
He presumably didn't share Heldwell's hatred towards Timpani's party, since after those events he didn't join the wizard in his campaign against them.[4][5] At some point after "The Monstrous Mine" (RT2x04), Heldwell used the lantern he had stolen from Gurt Stumpstuck to turn Igor into a mummy and locked him in a dungeon under his own mansion, controlling him and other undead through a magic gem.
"The Hopeless Hostages" (RT2x14) and "The Mummified Menace" (RT2x15)[]
Farah Vallari, Frog, and Heera Agneheart, accompanied by the four adventurers of the Spectral Hand, found Igor's mummy in a big chamber under Heldwell's house, and without knowing who he was, fought against him, as he used his maul and waves of sand and necrotic energy to attack; his face, however, was uncovered during the battle and the Re-Slayers recognized him. When the gem controlling him was destroyed, Heera, Disguised as Heldwell, tried to give him an order, but the wereboar, with his remaining strength, grabbed her by the throat, asking what he (Heldwell) had done to him, releasing her only when she showed him her true face. As his body started to crumble, he told them how the wizard had transformed him, and after Farah wished for him to be at peace, Igor thanked her, and he turned into sand.
