Husk zombies are undead deceased humanoids, variants of typical zombies. They were the first creatures fought by the band of adventurers that would become the Mighty Nein, when they were seemingly created by the song of Toya at the Fletching and Moondrop Traveling Carnival of Curiosities. They were encountered once again by the party in the swamps surrounding Isharnai's hut, appearing to be the former followers of the Twilight Phoenix who were killed by the armies of the Julous Dominion.



Husk zombies resemble their former humanoid forms, but swollen, grey, and mangled.[1]

The zombies near Isharnai's house had bladed hands.[2]


The following is drawn from the Explorer's Guide to Wildemount, p. 293:

Curse of the Husk: A humanoid slain by a melee attack from the zombie revives as a husk zombie on its next turn.

Undead Fortitude: If damage reduces the zombie to 0 hit points, it must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5 + the damage taken, unless the damage is radiant or from a critical hit. On a success, the zombie drops to 1 hit point instead.

When killed, some of them, called "husk zombie bursters", explode and drench everyone nearby in poison.

The nergaliid Kylre created husk zombies from those who were killed at the Fletching and Moondrop Traveling Carnival of Curiosities.

"With Great Power..." (2x94)[]

The Mighty Nein encountered husk zombies in the swamp where Isharnai the Prism Sage lives.
