Hazel Copperpot is a dwarven bard originally from the city of Hupperdook. She is played by Marisha Ray.

Appearance[]
Hazel is a stout dwarven woman with red hair wearing a bunch of instruments strapped around her body, making her a rather loud one-woman band.[2]
Personality[]
Hazel speaks with a transatlantic accent and behaves like an old-time radio play hostess, complete with her own "The Shadow"-esque introduction played through a gramophone-like device. Hazel complements her actions and movements with various instruments, including a slide whistle and a tambourine, and frequently narrates the action occurring. She tends to heavily flatter Taryon, emphasizing his successes and attributing the actions of others to him.

Hazel claimed she spent her days reading Taryon Darrington's books as an escape from work in Hupperdook's factories.[3] Hazel decided to join the Darrington Brigade as a way to record a live audiobook for Tary.
"The Adventures of the Darrington Brigade" (Sx49)[]
In 826 P.D., Taryon Darrington welcomed Hazel at his estate in Deastok inviting her to contest for the position in the Darrington Brigade. Hazel went second against Buddy. She casted Confusion on him, but Buddy shrugged it off and pummeled her. Tary offered her opt out of the combat, explaining that because Hazel made the whole pitch with his voice in it, she would probably get the position anyway, so Hazel healed Buddy and both contestants were considered the winners.
The same day, the brigade went to investigate a meteorite-like object they witnessed falling in the nearby the Cyrengreen Forest at the behest of Master Doolan Tversky. Close to the crater, they were attacked by dire wolves. Hazel narrated the entire battle into her recording device, attributing the final kill to Taryon, even though it was actually struck by Macaroni Samsonite. The object turned out ot be a giant duck—Quackthulhu, hid in a cavernous space with a pond. Taryon got the How do you want to do this? on the duck, pausing to allow Doty to sketch the final blow and Hazel to record it. Calling out, "I.. am... Taryon!". Tary felt a special connection with them all, and made them full members of the Darrington Brigade and honorary members of Vox Machina. Thinking better of everything he's just said, he grabbed Hazel's wax cylinder recording and threw it in the pond
