The Hallowed Cage is the inner boundary in the center of Ruidus which holds Predathos imprisoned within it.
Description[]
Sorrowlord Athion Zathuda first referred to Predathos's inner prison as the "Hallowed Cage",[1] and speaking to the Exandrian Accord, Evoroa described the Hallowed Cage as "the heavy boundary that the gods put on Predathos to keep him eternally slumbering." She believed that Predathos created the Ruidusborn as the ones who would be able to open this cage and free him[2] through the one of them referred to as "the vessel". It was also said that reaching the Hallowed Cage was only possible with the aid of at least one Ruidusborn,[3] the only ones who could break through the Hallowed Cage and become the vessel to carry the god-eater past it.[4]
The Hallowed Cage is surrounded by a glass shell holding a second adamantine-like layer infused with divine magic[5] similar to that of the Divine Gate, and the Ruidusborn carry within them the key to opening it.[6]
History[]
The Hallowed Cage was first mentioned by that name to Bells Hells by Athion Zathuda, when he told Fearne Calloway that she might still prove to be the one to unlock it.[7] Later, Evoroa used the same term to describe it to the Exandrian Accord. She believed that the entire goal of all of the machinations of the Weave Mind, Ludinus Da'leth, and the Ruby Vanguard were aimed at getting to this core.[2]
When Liliana Temult contacted her daughter Imogen shortly before Bells Hells began their final push toward the Hallowed Cage, she shared that Ludinus' group had not yet quite reached it.[8]
