Well and damn me if I don't tell you the secret to real joy in this League, me lad: Find yoursel' a fight with one o' them goliaths what favor fisticuffs. Dead silent, like boulders brought to life — none of the roaring and grunting of other fighters. Quiet enough to hear the crunchin' when them fists the size o' hams slam into their opponent. Nothing gets a crowd cheering and bettin' quite like that does, I tell you!

Grogan to his apprentice[1]

Grogan the Bookie was a member of the Brawler's League. At some point, he took on an apprentice, to whom he advised to seek out fights with goliaths that prefer fisticuffs, as they are more silent compared to other fighters, allowing the noise of bodily harm to be heard by the audience, in turn encouraging cheering and betting.[1]
