Gloves of Missile Snaring are gloves that permit the wearer to reduce or in some cases block damage from ranged weapon attacks.
Description[]
Appearance[]
The gloves are made of leather, with gold trim around where each of the hand joints are.[2]
Properties[]
The wearer of these gloves, when the gloves are attuned, can reduce the damage of a ranged weapon attack that hits them by 1d10 plus their Dexterity modifier, provided they have a free hand to deflect the projectile. If this would reduce the damage to zero, the wearer can catch the ranged weapon.[3][4]
History[]
Vex, Percy, Grog, and Scanlan, accompanied by Lyra and Zahra, found a pair of gloves of missile snaring in the ice in Rimefang's lair. The members of Vox Machina held onto them but no one took them until much later, when Percy claimed them. He first used the gloves to catch a javelin thrown by an orc,[5] who took part in the raid of the refugee camp from Westruun.[6]
Trivia[]
- While this was technically an "off-label" use, Percy used the ability granted by the gloves to catch Scanlan's hand mid-slap, without opening his eyes, immediately after being resurrected by Pike.[7]
