Ghor Veles was a city of the Age of Arcanum, known for housing a keep that served as a research facility for the Betrayer Gods. As of 835 PD, it was a ruin.[1]
Description[]
Ghor Veles is Draconic for "Vault of Shadows", in reference to its purpose, as a city of many vaults. Not only was it a center for arcane storage and research during the Age of Arcanum, but it also housed dungeons and catacombs for the undead servants of Oracs, an ancient dracolich. The undead minions still remain in their home below the city, and many treasure hunters who have attempted to plunder the tombs have themselves joined the undead, slowly building Oracs's army.[1]
Society[]
While the city is in ruins and has not existed since the Calamity, many refugees from elsewhere in Xhorhas have used Ghor Veles's old buildings as shelter. Liv-Burrath, a dranassar survivor who disguises herself as a drow, resides there and pays adventurers for any relics they find, hoping that one day she may find others like her and with them retake Ghor Dranas.[1]

History[]
"The Ruined Sliver" (2x104)[]
It is heavily implied that the ruins including a fragment of a black tower the Mighty Nein found on Rumblecusp, which had been displaced as part of Vokodo's entry to the Material Plane, were of Ghor Veles. When they investigated, the party heard whispers of "Oracs demands our return".[3]
