Gelvaan is a village or town located in a grassy plateau valley alongside the Taloned Highlands.[1] It is the hometown of Imogen Temult and her family.

Description[]

Gelvaan is surrounded by flat-topped bluffs and fertile partitioned farmland. It is described as "not small, but its sprawl is modest," and it is occupied for the most part by workers who till the land, raise livestock, or tend orchards, producing food for consumption by the rest of the continent.[2]

Points of interest[]

  • Windstep Marketplace[3]
  • Garrod's Wares and Trade - An equipment warehouse run by the Tildamere family for six generations.[4]
  • Faramore Estate - Reached through a large gated archway, it holds open rolling fields and manicured estate grounds around a massive mansion. Both hogs and pigs are raised here.[5]
  • Dureni Fields - The location of the home of Relvin Temult, near the Faramore Estate.[6]

History[]

Background[]

During the Apex War Gelvaan was occasionally attacked, and there were fires set by the enemy. As a consequence, defensive structures and barracks were built and inns were opened to house soldiers, although after the war many of those establishments fell into disuse. Since it is located on the main route leading from the Highlands to the rest of Marquet, it remains a frequent place of passage.[11]

"An Exit Most Fraught" (3x48)[]

Bells Hells visited the town when a portal from the Fey Realm led them to a spot about forty miles to the east.

Trivia[]

  • There is a typical flower of the region that, according to Imogen, is not found anywhere else. It looks like a peony, very full, with pale pink petals and a pleasant smell.[12]
