The Flametongue Dagger is a magical dagger owned by Vax'ildan, an adventurer of Vox Machina.

Description[]

The wielder gains a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with the dagger, and it deals 1d4 additional fire damage on a hit.[2] Assuming the Dagger is consistent with other flame tongue weapons, it can also can shed bright light for a 40-foot radius and dim light for an additional 40 feet beyond that.[3]

History[]

Vax'ildan acquired the dagger prior to the beginning of the Campaign One stream. It was first used by him against an umber hulk in the Greyspine Quarry,[4] and he continued to use it regularly through the remainder of the campaign. Its final identified use was to attack a Polymorphed Scanlan Shorthalt by Vecna to bring him back into his original form.[5]

In The Legend of Vox Machina, Season One Vax used his Flametongue Dagger as a light source in the De Rolo family catacombs beneath Whitestone Castle before being attacked by the dead that came from the coffins thanks to Delilah Briarwood's magic.[6]
