A feywild shard is a fragment of the Feywild. Sorcerers can use the shard to enhance their spells.
Description[]
Appearance[]
The shard found by Bells Hells in the mouth of a four-foot-long timber rabbit in the Oderan Wilds is a glimmering pink stone about an inch-and-a-half big. It is smoothly polished on one side, and the other side appears as if it had been broken off of something larger. It looks like a piece of colored glass.[1] When looked at more closely, the pink appears to shift to an orange color in a way evocative of the golden hour of sunset.[2][3]
Properties[]
The owner of a feywild shard can use an action to press the shard to an object like a weapon or jewelry and attach it there. The owner can use it as a spellcasting focus for their sorcerer spells.[4][3]
Once per day, when the wielder uses Metamagic, they can choose to roll on the Wild Magic Surge table. If the wielder is a wild magic sorcerer, they can do this anytime they use Metamagic.[5][3]
History[]
While traveling the Honored Trails of the Oderan Wilds to Heartmoor Hamlet, Bells Hells encountered an almiraj bounding through the jungle carrying a feywild shard in its mouth. Orym gave chase, snuck up on it, and pulled it from the almiraj's mouth. After Fresh Cut Grass Identified it, they gave it to Imogen Temult.[6]
