Ethrand Tachonis is the brother of Occtis Tachonis. As an NPC, he is played by Brennan Lee Mulligan.
Biography[]
Campaign Four: Overture[]
Ethrand was in command of a group of six ghouls who appeared at the Palazzo Davinos during a strike that killed Raimond Davinos, the father of Julien. He appeared at the doorway of the room which Aranessa Royce had given to Occtis Tachonis for the night, casting Silence while holding the Stone of Nightsong. He commanded the ghouls: "Put him on the table, open him up and we'll put the stone where it belongs."[1] During the ensuing battle, Ethrand wielded a knife to slice open the pinioned Occtis, reach into his chest, and replace his beating heart with the Stone of Nightsong, as he declared that his brother had always had something wrong with him, and that he should have embraced the gift of their name.[2] After commanding his ghouls to defenestrate Lady Aranessa[3] (something they failed to do) Ethrand moved away with the heart, and when his father got confirmation that he had it, he Shadow Walked to him and Plane Shifted them both away from the battle between the defenders of House Davinos and the horde of summoned undead.[4]

Trivia[]
- After the events of "Stone-Faced" (4x04) Brennan Lee Mulligan revealed that he was very happy with the results of some of the dice during combat, because otherwise Lady Aranessa would have ended up thrown from the balcony. He also explained that part of the reason the situation improved for her was that Ethrand got cocky and, in order to speak to Occtis one last time, ended his Silence spell early, without considering that a sorcerer from a rival house was still in his presence.[8]
