Empyreans are children of gods.

Empyreans are usually beautiful and ageless.

Vox Machina faced a corrupted empyrean guarding Grog's soul in the Plane of Pandemonium.[1] The empyrean had been the "half-son" of the Raven Queen's predecessor. That god of death punished his child by banishing him to Pandemonium.[2] Before he could retrieve his son from Pandemonium, the god was challenged and destroyed by his mortal follower and partner, who became the Raven Queen.

  • Although they can have similar origins, empyreans are not the same as demigods, for the former are closer to godhood, while the latter are at least partially non-divine, even if they aren't mortal either.
