The Emerald Outpost is a town and former garrison established by the elves of Syngorn as a secret outpost during the time of the Kingdom of Drassig. After the kingdom was dissolved at the end of the Scattered War, the outpost was no longer necessary. By 812 PD, it had been repurposed as a trade post between Syngorn and Emon.[2]
The Emerald Outpost is under military governance, shared by the governments of Syngorn and the Republic of Tal'Dorei, who both also maintain a small military presence onsite by mutual agreement. The Republic of Tal'Dorei representative, appointed by the Tal'Dorei Council, as of 812 PD was Jorn Krastef. The Syngorn representative, appointed by the Wardens of Syngorn, as of that time, was Maina Rusalla. Because of this shared arrangement, the Emerald Outpost is frequently used as a neutral site for diplomatic talks between the two nations.[2]
Demographics[]
The Emerald Outpost is a small town with a population of 1,456 as of 812 PD. The population was mostly elven (89%) with small numbers of humans (6%), halflings (3%), and members of other races (2%).[3]
By 836 PD, the population increased modestly to 1,470 individuals. The majority remained elven (76%), the human portion considerably increased to 19%, while the percentage that were halflings and other races remained stable.[1]
