Elven Chain is a magical chain shirt worn by Caleb Widogast after being stolen from Gelidon's lair in Mythburrow.
Description[]
Appearance[]
Elven Chain is a chain mail shirt made of interlocked metal rings. It is worn between layers of clothing or leather, and its rings are muffled by the outer layers.[1] It is unexpectedly light and finely made.[2]
Properties[]
- As a chain shirt,[1] which is a medium armor, it offers the wearer a base AC of 13 plus their Dexterity modifier to a maximum of +2.[3]
- The armor provides an additional +1 bonus to AC.[1]
- The wearer is considered proficient with this armor even if they do not have proficiency with medium armor.[1]
History[]
- "Rime and Reason" (2x75): While in Gelidon's lair in Mythburrow, Veth Brenatto found the shirt and took it.[4]
- "Refjorged" (2x76): The Mighty Nein and Reani attempted to gift it to Umagorn Smeltborne. Though he was impressed with the item and considered beginning to make similar elven-style items, he returned it to the Nein. Caleb Widogast began wearing it.[2]
