Elias de Corvo is a male human and one of the most famous blood hunters in the Claret Orders.[1]
Description[]
Appearance[]
Elias is an older human man with a graying black beard and dark gray hair tied back in a ponytail. His face and forearms are heavily scarred. He typically wears a black leather trench coat and a red scarf. [2]
Personality[]
Elias is a professional and disciplined man, with little patience for weakness and imbeciles.[3]
Biography[]
Elias joined the Claret Orders at some point in his life, eventually becoming a talented blood hunter. He successfully hunted many creatures in is career, many of which left him with scars to prove it. In his later years, Elias became more focused on training new members of the order.[1] At some point in his career he met Vess DeRogna, an archmage of the Cerberus Assembly.[4]
As of 829 PD Elias was living in the Oltu Ruins as an influential figure of authority, and had contact with Sarenne de Chastain, another blood hunter of the Order of the Lycan who was visiting, and who dispersed Zoran Kluthidol, Tyffial Wase and Briyakar Jurrell when they tried to present complaints about the operation of the Claret Orders.[5] By then Elias had been training some students and teaching them how to fight, including Brevyn Oakbender and more recently Lucien Tavelle, who learnt from him and Karem Ferentus for at least two years.[6] That same year Lucien and Sarenne went with Cree Deeproots for her first contract with the order,[7] to kill the witch Azrahari in the Savalirwood; when the tiefling (who shared a traumatic past with the witch) discovered their target, he was convinced that Karem, Sarenne and Elias were testing him.[8]
At some point before 831 PD Elias introduced Lucien, Cree and Brevyn to Vess DeRogna, who wanted to pay members of the order who were willing to seek relics for her.[9] The young members of the order used that contact and, ironically, being that year in Rexxentrum for months eventually prompted them to become permanently independent from the Claret Orders and move to Shadycreek Run.[10]
As of 835 PD Elias was still training new members of the Claret Orders, instilling them with the morals that anchor them to their better nature.[1]

Trivia[]
- His name is a variation of Elijah, which means "The Lord is my God" in Hebrew. His surname is made up of two elements: de is a French or Spanish preposition meaning "of"; Corvo, on the other hand, means "raven" in Portuguese and Galician.
- His surname has the de preposition, just like the surname of Alasterre de Vitrevos, the director of Tal'Dorei's Claret Order, and Sarenne de Chastain, a member of the Order of the Lycan.
- He shares his name with Elias, the son of the last two Knights of Avalir.
- Elias is the blood hunter featured on the cover of Matthew Mercer's Blood Hunter class on the website Dungeon Master's Guild.[11]
- Elias is also featured in the artwork for the blood hunter stat block in the Explorer's Guide to Wildemount.[12]
