Eldamir was an ancient elven Archmage of the Librarium Incantatum and one of the seven of the Septarion, the council of Avalir during the Age of Arcanum.[2] As an NPC, Eldamir is played by Brennan Lee Mulligan.

Description[]

Appearance[]

Eldamir was an ancient elf, bowed with age. When Patia met with him on the Eve of The Replenishment, he was wearing a shimmering golden cloak with small glimmering crystals of golden light that shimmered in geometric shapes, turned into motes, and floated away. His eyes were soft and smiling and he leaned on a wooden staff that he had wielded for centuries.[3]

Personality[]

Eldamir was distinguished by his talkativeness, off-target verbosity, and nostalgia, often retelling stories of his past and losing himself in memories.[4] In truth, he did not care about the lives of others and was willing to let an untold number of civilians die as long as the Septarions were protected, himself included.[5]

Biography[]

Eldamir sat on the council since the beginning of Avalir with his exceptional knowledge of the arcane, overshadowing most wizards of the city.[6]

During Exandria Unlimited: Calamity, Eldamir met with Patia Por'co to congratulate her on her brilliant management of the Librarium Incantatum that had beaten the record for magical knowledge gained in a single venture.[7] He also expected Patia to become his new apprentice, as his former one, Volucia of the Heart's Emblem, had retired to Cael Morrow of Marquet and left her post.[8]

At the start of the calamity. Eldamir wanted the Herald's Tome to tell the citizenry to pour their magical energy into the Etheric Net to preserve the city, demonstrating that he wanted to preserve Avalir at the expense of all the people living in it. He further wanted to requisition all of the city's available skyships in order to transport the effects of the Septarion from the city at once for safe keeping.[9]

Appearances and mentions[]

Quotations[]

Eldamir: (in his elderly voice) When I was a young lad, I saw him [Imyr Por'co] and thought, there is wizardry itself. The sheer brilliance, the sight, the vision to go to the druids of Old Toramunda, those old Gau Drashari and to say to them, 'Well, you listen here, you, you might be able to turn into a bear, but so what? I was going to take the city to the sky!' And he wrestled with them, he did, and they said, 'You are not going to split the city in half.' He said, 'There's more brumestone--' Did you know that the veins of brumestone set into the sculpture are perfect to the millimeter with the veins of brumestone in the base of the city itself? It is a perfect replica.[10]

Trivia[]

Loquatius Seelie pre-recorded a broadcasting message that would be announced on the day of Eldamir's death.[11]
