Efterin is the former leader of a cult named the Hishari and the father of Ashton Greymoore.
Description[]
Evontra'vir described Efterin as "a broken man of burning purpose" who felt they were owed something by the world because of his lifelong visions that seemed to promise greatness.[2] He was ambitious and wanted to leave his mark in history.[3]
Biography[]
In approximately 793 PD, Efterin arose as a charismatic figure in the region around the small village of Tumilo. He traveled "from town to town, displaying impressive abilities and giving sermons on the elemental spirits of old and the enduring need to restore the Primordial powers."[4] He boasted about having received the blessing of Evontra'vir of the Gau Drashari in the Shattered Teeth, and although some people, such as Keyleth of the Air Ashari, found that hard to believe,[5] it was true that he was given directions to a "shard of power" by Evontra'vir that created the incident that destroyed the Hishari.[6] Evontra'vir showed him a vision of the future, including the relic he would use to usher in "a renewed ancient power" (a shard of the titan Ka'Mort) and directions to the necropolis of Toramunda where it lay.[7]
Eventually, through his words and his charisma, he drew many followers and settled in Tumilo, renaming both it and his followers "Hishari" as a tribute to the historical druid cultures of Exandria.[8] The village was destroyed during a mysterious ritual involving the shard which Efterin was performing with the aid of all of the villagers, including his child Ashton Greymoore and Ashton's mother.[9]

Trivia[]
- According to Evontra'vir, Efterin claimed visions that promised greatness, but it is unclear if those were just ambition or if they were actual prophetic abilities. The Great Tree of Atrophy actually confirmed that he would find the elemental relic, although that would eventually lead to Efterin's death, and the destruction of the Hishari community. According to the former Gau Drashari, everything the elf did was meant to be, and Ashton, his child, was his destiny.
