Drixlitch Ovana is an elven toymaker in Uthodurn. As an NPC, he is played by Matthew Mercer.

Description[]

Drixlitch is a tall elven gentleman, young to middle-aged with curly blond hair and a very long pointed nose. When encountered by Bells Hells, he wore ostentatious clothing and a tall top hat. He used a cane and walked with a slight limp.[3]

Drixlitch repeatedly stressed that he was the majority owner of the business. Matt compared him to "a snide Willy Wonka". Chetney Pock O'Pea described Drixlitch as "a son of a bitch", and while Oltgar told the party he was "a unique individual who has a good mind for business," he was secretly thinking "this fucking son of a bitch," who had crushed not only his spirit but that of all the other toymakers in the shop.[4]

Biography[]

Background[]

According to Chetney, Oltgar Dradegon was a brilliant master craftsman and maker of fine wooden toys. Chetney had worked with him as his second in his shop in Uthodurn for years. When Drixlitch arrived, he was all about metal toys, and overnight, Oltgar sold part of the store to him, which Chetney viewed as a total betrayal. Eventually Chetney's hostility escalated to the point where he stabbed Drixlitch in the knee and Oltgar in the hand before fleeing. Drixlitch had to use a cane because of that injury, but he lied about its origin, saying he was wounded in a war.

"Treacherous Toys" (3x54)[]

Drixlitch hired the Uthodurn party to clear the toy shop of pymon firebugs and the adult craskkalid that had been freed within it. When they succeeded, they learned through papers found in Drixlitch's desk that he had supply chain ties to child labor sweatshops in Shadycreek Run, as well as debts with the Uthodurnian nobility, and had forged documents in Oltgar's name that would bequeath the company to Drixlitch if Oltgar died. Chetney Pock O'Pea convinced Oltgar that his best course of action was to sell his interest in the shop to Drixlitch, leave town, and start over elsewhere.

"Hope Within History" (3x55)[]

During their meeting with Imathan Talviel and Simone Fruunast Bells Hells revealed the information they had uncovered about Drixlitch's illegal activities, and presented the evidence. The dual monarchs were very concerned about it, particularly after knowing that the employer exploited children, and declared that if the papers supporting the accusation were in order, Drixlitch would be properly punished and made an example. After the Era of Reclamation the elf was nowhere to be seen.[5]

Appearances and mentions[]

Quotations[]

  • "I'm the majority owner of the business here. The toys are made by Oltgar. They are outsourced to many extremely talented creators, crafters, builders by my designs."[6]
  • (about wooden toys) "Antiques are quite the rage in some places, of course."[7]

Trivia[]

  • Travis Willingham confirmed that Chetney never released the Brand of Castigation that he put on Drixlitch, and he can still track him.[8]
