Doset Tachonis is the former Baron of Sloak, and a cousin of Occtis Tachonis. As an NPC, he is played by Brennan Lee Mulligan.
Description[]
Biography[]
Background[]
Doset was born as a member of House Tachonis, although not into the main branch. At some point after he reached adulthood, around the year 69, his family started making moves to control land in Timmony. As part of it, Doset was chosen to become the husband of the Baroness of Sloak, who had inherited the titles and lands of her predecessor, her previous husband; this new and marriage[2] was very short, lasting only nine months,[3] and ended with the death of Lady Sloak, which left Doset as the only heir of the barony in the year 71. Although there was some expectation in Timmony about him becoming the ruler of the region, he ended up designating Casimir Gavendale as his successor (as a way for House Tachonis to pay him for granting them the means to execute Thjazi Fang.[4][5]
"On the Scent" (4x07)[]
Lord Doset and his sister, Univere Tachonis, had a meeting with the new Baron of Sloak in his new, ruinous castle, giving him the deed of title that had been stolen from him by Talcydimir Pridesire. Casimir was very disappointed with his reward and the fact he didn't get to punish the thief, and spoke rudely to his benefactors, causing Doset to coldly point out that Talcydimir was no longer concern of him, and that Sloak, disappointing as it might be, was more than he deserved.
When Casimir spoke about the circumstances of Thjazi's death and mentioned a falcon had been seen flying in the sky that morning, Univere was suddenly interested, restraining him with her magic and demanding confirmation of that fact. After that, she and her brother exchanged a look, with Doset raising an eyebrow, and announced they had to leave. As they were doing so a very angry Casimir threw a rock at them, and Lord Doset, losing his patience, asked Sir Aniko Seremai to punish him.
"To the Hounds!" (4x09) and "Make Merry" (4x11)[]
The Tachonis siblings and their forces traveled north, to Tybry's Lea, where they stayed for about a day; during the celebration of Candle Feast, however, it was decided that they would leave that very night after a quiet conversation between Univere, Doset, and their Seremai knight.
It was later revealed that the Tachonis siblings were waiting outside the city with the intention of traveling northward, to Houndsport, with the petrified statues of several paladins, in order to sail to the Bay of Gaerhithai.[6]
Relationships[]
Aniko Seremai[]
As members of House Seremai and House Tachonis, Aniko and Doset worked together as allies, and the former obeyed the orders of the latter. However, beyond that, there was some level of respect and fondness, and Lord Doset, in private letters to the knight, addressed him by his first name, and expressed how much he appreciated his help to him and his house, as well as his work in their latest mission.[7]
