Den Hythenos is one of the twelve noble Dens of the Kryn Dynasty.[1]
History[]

At some point in recent history this noble house began to accept goblinkin as members, either through reincarnation or as new allies who were allowed to be consecuted, despite the derision this caused in certain court circles.[2] One of these members, a bugbear, died within range of a Luxon beacon, and around 817 PD they were reborn as a human baby of the feared Wastewalker clan. The young human, called Irvan, wasn't comfortable in this family, and he left as a teenager for Asarius. It was around that time that, through anamnesis, he started remembering his previous life with Den Hythenos, which caused him to feel somewhat self-conscious about his new human body, but also encouraged him to try to achieve great deeds without resorting to the support of his noble "relatives". To that end he joined Ayo Jabe's adventuring party at the age of 19, around 836 PD.[3]
Between 835 and 836 PD, during the War of Ash and Light, Den Hythenos established an alliance with Huron Stahlmast, an engineer who used to create weapons for the Dwendalian Empire in Hupperdook, being banished from the city after his inhumane methods of experimentation were uncovered. This made the inventor ally with the Xhorhasian Empire instead, being willing to provide them with weapons in exchange for resources, as well as their assistance in freeing Sken Zabriss, a Kryn operative who has become a prisoner of war.[4] Through the tunnels that connected to Stahlmast's underground lair the Dynasty sent support (such as potions of healing) and minions to the disgraced inventor, promising more as long as he kept his end of the bargain.[5] Den Hythenos also sent a drow ambassador, Ishel, who began training the kobold underlings who worked for Stahlmast.[6] The ties between Den Hythenos and Huron's revenge plans were presumably cut when the War of Ash and Light officially came to an end.[7]

At some point in or before 836 PD another member, Starguide Uraya Hythenos, began dealing with reports between Foren and Rosohna. The goblin spellcaster[8][9] was also one of the few friends Shadowhand Essek Thelyss trusted within the Kryn Dynasty,[10] working with them when the drow himself moved to Eiselcross.[11]
Known members[]
- Ishel Hythenos
- Starguide Uraya Hythenos
- Irvan Wastewalker (through a previous life)
Trivia[]
- With the exception of Ishel all known members of this den are or were at one time goblinkin.
- Den Hythenos likely has a good relationship with Skysybil Abrianna Mirimm, as the old Umavi, now in the body of a goblin, is a strong supporter of goblinkin rights on the Lucid Bastion council.[2]
