Demistrik's master was killed by a trap when they tried to enter Sprigg's home near the Pools of Wittebak. Sprigg let the imp stay in his home for 19 years.[2]
"The Fear of Isolation" (1x105)[]
When Vox Machina arrived at Sprigg's homestead, Sprigg was surprised and delighted to hear they were real, then promptly told them to go away, Demistrik appearing to slam the door in their faces. Through the door, Vox Machina heard Dimistrik arguing with Sprigg about who should leave, Sprigg telling Demistrik to go become a circus performer in Kraghammer, before he let them in. Sprigg introduced himself as Sprigg "the Obnoxious", which Demistrik thought was an appropriate epithet.
After the group were attacked by Vecna's minions, Sprigg attempted to reach out to Ioun, to no response. Demistrik teased him for trying, then flew off.

Ioun informed Sprigg that Demistrik had moved into a home in Kraghammer, to the woe of those who lived there.[3]
