"Deadly Echoes (LoVM)" (LVM3x11) is the eleventh episode of The Legend of Vox Machina, Season Three. At sea, the twins fight for their lives against Ripley. Keyleth undergoes a dangerous earth ritual to locate Raishan, one that could cost her life. Pike and Grog's quest is no less perilous, as they struggle to convince Kaylie to help save Scanlan.
Plot summary[]
Keyleth is struggling within the Earth Ashari ritual to locate Raishan, experiencing the entirety of the world all at once. She can hear her father urging her to stand firm, but Pa'tice tells her instead to give into the pull of the world and find the things that give her strength and connect herself to the people she trusts. Korrin urges her to tie herself to the person she loves, as the moments together are worth the pain apart. Deep in her vision, Keyleth sees Vax'ildan and tells him, "You know I'm in love with you, right?" Her father and Pa'tice see her petrified body crumble, but then witness a powerful Earth elemental emerge, connecting to the earth and tracing the thread to locate Raishan. Her mission complete, Keyleth drops her elemental form and is congratulated by her father and Pa'tice, who teaches her a method of communication with others at a distance.

Meanwhile, Allura Teleports Pike and Kaylie back to Emon and Greyskull Keep. They hear Grog's moan, in pain from not moving since Pike left. Kaylie approaches Scanlan's unconscious body and the others leave them alone. She tells him she's been hard on him, and though some of it was deserved, some was due to her own insecurity. When he tracked her down in Ank'Harel it let her know someone was thinking about her, and hopefully that's what he needs right now. She thinks about him, and she misses him. At that, Scanlan stirs, opening his eyes and sitting up as they hug. Later, Scanlan is recovering surrounded by Grog, Kaylie, and Pike, when a tree grows in his bedroom bearing Keyleth's face, which tells them to come to Zephrah.
Meanwhile, Vax'ildan and Vex'ahlia are disarmed and chained by Ripley, aboard her ship. She gloats that Percival, in his pride, chose to die rather than let his guns send the souls of their victims to Orthax. Vax opens his hands and his dagger apparates from the hand of a captor into his own. He attacks the massive crewmember holding him and pulls the body on top of himself and Vex. The other crewmembers open fire as Ripley disappears with a swirl of her cloak, but the bullets fail to pierce the thick body. The twins push out and take to the air in a hail of bullets. Vex manages to retrieve her bow although both she and Vax are wounded, and they take shelter behind several barrels. Ripley, with one arm transformed into that of the demon Orthax, fires at the barrels and explodes the black powder they hold. The twins are knocked backward and the ship begins sinking, the crew abandoning ship. Vex takes a few shots at Ripley, who is joined by the fiery demonic figure of Orthax. Together, they shoot at both twins who are using all their powers to try to kill Ripley. As the battle continues, Vax hears Percival's voice calling for help from inside Ripley's gun. Both twins are gravely wounded as they pursue the magically teleporting Ripley through the sinking ship, but eventually Vax manages to knock the gun out of her grasp. As Ripley holds his neck in a death grip, Vex'ahlia rises from the water into which she was knocked by one of Ripley's shots. Using Fenthras and the arrowhead Percy gifted her, she knocks Ripley down, then tells her the world would be better with Percy still in it and fires an arrow point-blank into her mouth, killing her. The demon emerges in a swirl of smoke and disappears into Ripley's gun, which Vax retrieves. The twins make their way to a deserted shore where Vax shows Vex the gun and tells her he heard Percy's soul calling from within it. Suddenly, Keyleth's face rises from the sand beside them, calling to them.
Later, Vox Machina's members have all gathered at the Ashari temple in Zephrah, where the twins tell the others they killed Ripley. Talking over each other, Keyleth and Vax try simultaneously to apologize. Keyleth tells them she trusts herself now and she knows she needs them. Especially Vax, because she's in love with him, and she kisses him, leaving him speechless. They have one more dragon to kill, and Keyleth knows where it is.

Later, the party emerges from a tree into a dark forest, where Keyleth parts the crumbling foliage to reveal a ziggurat glowing green from inside. They enter and explore as Keyleth explains that in her vision she saw Raishan preparing some kind of ritual. Eventually they hear her voice, chanting, and see the diseased Raishan (in human form) in a massive room with the body of the dead dragon Thordak suspended above her. As Keyleth approaches, Raishan is unsurprised, using her power to create beams of green magical energy shooting through the rune-carved stones of the chamber that ricochet into Thordak's corpse. Keyleth attacks with all her abilities, eventually killing Raishan, but the energy she released continues and the dragon hanging above stirs, waking into an undead form that is an amalgamation of both Thordak and Raishan.
