Cymie was on guard in the basement of the northwest tower of the Vergesson Sanatorium when Team Firestorm consisting of Caleb, Jester, and Veth broke in searching for the Amulets of Proof against Detection and Location that they knew were stored there. Jester used Fast Friends on Cymie, instructing him to stay in the first room and ignore the sounds of battle that began coming from further inward, sit at the table, and start counting. When Jester moved out of the room to join her teammates in battle and cast Invoke Duplicity, it broke her concentration on Cymie's spell. Beau saw him racing away from the tower in search of help a few minutes later.

- Jasper: A fellow guard that got him the summer job at the Sanatorium. Presumably Jasper was one of the casualties of Team Firestorm during the break-in.[2]
