The Court of the Lambent Path is the council that rules Aeshanadoor, an erudite Orcish society in the south of Marquet.[1]
Description[]
The Court of the Lambent Path is the governing body of Aeshanadoor,[2] the region south of the Rumedam Desert and the Panagrip Sands and east of the Taloned Highlands, bordered to the northwest by the Hellcatch Valley. The Gloomed Jungles of the region are considered a shaded territory of treacherous wilderness.[3] It is said that it is very difficult to traverse the jungles without a guide.[4]
The settlements of the Lambent Path show "mathematically immaculate architecture".[5]
Notable Locations[]
- Yios: an orcish city of great cultural and scholarly significance. It used to have a skyport, but destroyed it during the Apex War and has not rebuilt it. The region is therefore now more isolated than it was formerly.[6]
- Gloomed Jungles
- Barinak
Society[]
Demographics[]
The Court of the Lambent Path governs an historically very erudite orcish society, which suggest a great percentage of its population is of orcish and half-orcish ancestry,[7] with some presence of half-elves and uniya as well.[8]
Notable People[]
- Roe Estani: Astronomist and friend to House Lumas who retired to Heartmoor Hamlet[9]
- Kadija Sumal: A professor at the Aydinlan Seminary who was involved in researching dreams of red storms[10]
Politics[]
The government of the Court of the Lambent Path relies on a council of great social influence, a political powerhouse watching over the whole region.[11]
Military[]
The military of this country is comparable to that of the Stratos Throne.[12]
Culture[]
According to some, the city of Yios is the "Marquesian peak of collegiate study", and skilled dreamers, academics and people with political ambitions seek contact with the Court of the Lambent Path.[13] One of their greatest reasons for pride is the Aydinlan Seminary, containing the Omen Archive[14] and one of the largest arcane telescopes on Exandria.[15]
There is rivalry between this country and Ank'Harel to be considered the center of scholarship on the continent.[16]
History[]
More than two decades ago the Court of the Lambent Path and the Stratos Throne of the Taloned Highlands engaged in a military conflict known as the Apex War. This intense and destructive conflict culminated around 823 PD, leaving both sides exhausted, expended, and without a clear winner.[17]
As of 843 PD their truce continues, and the Court of the Lambent Path is still working to rebuild its society, although they have managed to maintain their cultural prestige despite everything.[18] After the Red Solstice, they sent representatives to Vasselheim to attend a meeting about how to deal with Ludinus Da'leth and the Ruby Vanguard.[19]
