Coriolis is a legendary draconic mount of the Wyvernwind family that Dorian Storm can summon.
Description[]
Coriolis looks like a large[4] flying equine dragon[5] with silvery blue eyes.[6]
Biography[]
Background[]
This creature has been associated with the rulers of Silken Squall for at least three decades, and stories about it are told to the Wyvernwind children,[7] which include the melody used to summon it.[8]
"Collecting Legends" (3x105)[]
After the apogee solstice of 843 PD, during a meeting in the Platinum Sanctuary of Vasselheim, Bells Hells were presented as potential warriors to face the Ruby Vanguard, and each one of them had to speak and defend their worth. During this meeting Dorian Storm had been distracted humming a song while thinking of moments of his childhood, and through his magical music he started casting Find Greater Steed. When the moment came for him to speak, and Cerkonos asked him what could he offer to the mission, the bard completed the spell and Coriolis entered the temple, surprising everyone (including its summoner). Dorian declared that he had power and the desire to help his friends, and after a few moments with the friendly mount, he allowed it to leave.[9]
"Looming" (3x108)[]
In the Feywild, after Bells Hells captured some Unseelie agents they didn't have a way to return to Ligament Manor (their safe haven) easily, so they contacted Morrigan, Fearne's grandmother, to help them. Since the hag, even in her avian form, couldn't carry them all, Dorian summoned Coriolis to fly behind them, carrying Cashadoor, the Unseelie emissary, with him.
Later, back in Nana Morri's domain, they ended up leaving only one Unseelie guard alive, Kamal, and after Modifying his memories they left him with the mission of returning to the Unseelie Court to warn them that they shouldn't sent support to Ludinus Da'leth, for his cause was doomed. Dorian cast Geas on Kamal to make sure he fulfilled his task, and allowed him to ride Coriolis, instructing the mount to take the guard to his destination.
"In the Shadow of War" (3x110)[]
The next day, when Bells Hells returned to Vasselheim and told Allura Vysoren about their mission, she asked if they knew for sure if their plan for the Unseelie Court had worked. Dorian summoned Coriolis again and asked if the mission had been fulfilled, and the mount (after Braius failed to communicate with Speak with Animals) hit the ground twice to confirm Kamal was with his court.

Abilities[]
Coriolis can fly and has the abilities of a griffon. Moreover, when summoned with the Find Greater Steed spell it can understand at least one of Dorian's languages.[2]

Trivia[]
- Its name is a reference to the Coriolis force.
- It is unclear if Coriolis is an actual living creature that exists in Exandria, or a fictional entity that exists only when the Wyvernwind family summons it through a spell.
- Robbie Daymond revealed that before his character returned to Campaign Three he and Aabria Iyengar had a conversation about how the bard had leveled up and what were his new abilities, and it was she who suggested adding the Find Greater Steed to Dorian's spell list.[10]
- Coriolis uses the statistics of a griffon, a creature that the Find Greater Steed spell can summon,[2] but its appearance is inspired by that of a longma, a draconic creature from Chinese mythology.[11]
