The Cloud Jaws are flying, whale-like creatures dwelling in the mists around the Shattered Teeth.
Description[]
Even in the distance the Cloud Jaws look enormous, flying through the clouds as if slowly porpoising.[3] They make a rumbling, guttural call similar to that of ocean whales.[4]
They like to eat things that come within close range, so they pose a danger to skyships in the persistent fog surrounding the archipelago. By contrast, ocean travel in the area is safe from the creatures because they do not like to get close to the water.[5] They aren't known for attacking or eating creatures that are too small for them (like flying animals or people).[6]

When Bells Hells arrived on Slival in 843 PD, Imogen Temult and Orym Flew over the clouds to explore the area, and they saw a Cloud Jaws flying in the distance. The following morning, when they met Jirana, she told them about the sky whales.[7]
A few days later, when the adventurers were sent to Igthuldus, they saw another Cloud Jaws flying near Athos Peak.[8]
After the release of Predathos, Caleb Widogast was eventually able to scry on Ludinus Da'leth, who lived in a cabin at high elevation. In the clouds in the background, there were shifting shapes breaching,[9] and when the Nein Hells finally visited the area, Imogen saw two sky whales moving through the clouds in that area, above Evaterena.[10]
