The Circlet of Wisdom is a magic item used by Keyleth since the pre-stream adventures, and used by her mother Vilya before that. The set of antlers protruding from this headwear is a distinctive part of Keyleth's image and was the source of one of her nicknames.[2]
Attributes[]
When attuned to this item, the user gains a +2 bonus to their Wisdom and Charisma scores and to their maximum scores.[3][1]
In Keyleth's statblock in Tal'Dorei Campaign Setting Reborn, the text only mentions that the circlet increases her Wisdom by 2, and doesn't mention the Charisma bonus nor that it is also responsible for increasing her maximum scores in those stats above 20.[4]
History[]
The circlet is a family heirloom[5] and one of the last relics of Vilya, which Keyleth took with her from the Ashari.[6]
When Keyleth used Wildshape or Shapechange (granted by the completion of her Aramentè), her new form generally included antlers.[7][8] She said she deliberately kept the antlers to make her recognizable in her new form,[9] and indeed it did help to prevent friendly fire.[10]
Veth Brenatto commissioned a pair of earmuffs with antlers[11] and a smaller set (presumably for her son Luc)[12] after glimpsing Vilya reuniting with Keyleth.[13]
Trivia[]
- Keyleth's signature antlers were an invention of artist Kit Buss as a way to represent her circlet for her official portrait.[14]
- During Vox Machina's approximately one-year break from adventuring, Vax'ildan got a tattoo of a pair of antlers on his right bicep.[15]
