Chris Lockey was the social and content producer at Critical Role Productions LLC.[1] He did much of their in-house photography, and has also worked as a writer, producer, editor, director, and RPG designer on a freelance basis for such companies as Kobold Press.[2]
Critical Role Productions[]
Lockey was a contributing writer to the Explorer's Guide to Wildemount and created much of the lore for Blightshore. He describes it as being influenced by the gothic horror, dark fantasy, and post-apocalyptic fiction works he has enjoyed since childhood.[2] He has not appeared as a player on the channel, but he hosted episode 29 of Handbooker Helper, Sorcerer (Quick Build).
On December 16, 2020, Critical Role released a D&D 5e-compatible module in a full interactive PDF called Doom Eternal: Assault on Armaros Station. It was written by Chris and Matthew Mercer and was developed by Ivan Van Norman of Darrington Press. This module was created for the "Doom Eternal One-Shot" (Sx52).
He co-created along with Taliesin Jaffe the concept of Candela Obscura.
Chris announced on 2 January 2023 that after five years he had completed his final project with Critical Role.[3]
