Celia Rose Gooding is a actor who is best well known for their role as Nyota Uhura in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and for their Tony Award-nominated role in Jagged Little Pill.

Celia is the daughter of Broadway actress LaChanze, and securities trader Calvin Gooding who died in Celia's early childhood in the September 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center. Celia began involvement in the development of the rock musical Jagged Little Pill when she was still in high school, and when the show later appeared on Broadway, Celia won a Grammy and was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical for her co-starring role, becoming one of the youngest nominees in the category at age 20.[2]
Celia currently appears as a young Nyota Uhura in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
