Casimir and Marsa were followers of the Moonweaver living during the last days of the Calamity, and the parents of Rei'nia Saph.

Description[]

Casimir and Marsa were devout people who cared about both of their daughters, and were thankful to those who helped return their daughter Rei'nia to them.[1] Casimir was a human man who was starting to get salt-and-pepper hair during the Divergence,[2] and Marsa was an elven woman with long white locks.[3]

Biography[]

Casimir and Marsa lived during the Calamity as followers of the Moonweaver, with Marsa being a priest of the goddess.[4] They had two daughters together, Rei'nia and Liana (who, unbeknownst to them, was the mortal incarnation of the Moonweaver). They raised their children in an environment in which they could be open about their religion,[5] but at some point towards the end of the Calamity they were separated from Nia and Liana. The half-elven sisters ended up traveling across Gwessar with other companions in order to find them, and eventually Liana decided to go out and search by herself, agreeing with Nia to meet up at Torm's Hill.[6] Casimir and Marsa had been in that town for a time, meeting Luz, a family friend, there, but they left before Liana arrived, and moved to Vasselheim.[7]

Months later, Rei'nia and her friends, after receiving a divine mission from the Moonweaver, arrived in the Dawn City themselves. When Casimir and Marsa saw Nia they were thrilled. When they asked about Liana, Nia explained she had actually been a goddess, but her parents seemed so confused that one of her friends, Crokas, showed them a magic orb with recorded memories of Liana, to explain things faster. Casimir asked if this meant that he, Casimir, was a god himself, and when Crokas denied this, Casimir thanked him.[8] Marsa, on the other hand, was happy that one of her daughters was safe and immortal, but that made her worry even more about Nia's mortality. They thanked Erro Mordaurum for helping their child when he was introduced.[9]

During the following weeks, Nia and her friends stayed at her parents' home and she shared with them their current mission trying to find a servant of the Betrayer Gods and the hidden avatars of the Platinum Dragon and the All-Hammer. After they stopped a plot organized by the Lord of the Hells at the cost of Erro's life, Nia left her parents for a time to bring her friend's body to Snowgrave Pass, to bury him there.[10] She eventually came back, and for years she lived with them as she taught people how to use the new form of divine magic. At one point Nia was reunited with Ondetra, a water genasi woman she had met in the weeks prior to the Divergence, and since she was wary of the followers of the Moonweaver due to past trauma, the cleric introduced her to her parents, since her own mother was a priest too and Ondetra could use those positive influences from them.[11]
