Unnamed "Skyward" (1x15) On herbalism and collecting material components from plants. Second printing, but difficult to find. Purchased at Gilmore's Glorious goods by Keyleth for 25 gold.[1] Doubles proficiency bonus if referenced while making a Nature check related to herbalism.[2]
Unnamed "Skyward" (1x15) On safely extracting alchemical and potion components from creatures, including mundane and magical bests. Second printing, but difficult to find. Purchased at Gilmore's Glorious goods by Keyleth for 25 gold.[1] Doubles proficiency bonus if referenced while making a Nature check related to harvesting parts of a creature.[2]

Unnamed "The Sunken Tomb" (1x44) Book on the history of Exandria,[4] including a chapter dedicated to the Divergence that speaks on Purvan Suul. Purchased for 30 gold from Benjamin Cole, a bookstore owner in Vasselheim.
Tome of Leadership and Influence "Hope" (1x56) Magical tome that increases current and maximum Charisma score by 2. Discovered in the treasure hoard of Umbrasyl at Gatshadow Mountain. Read by Scanlan, then given to Keyleth.
Before the River's Dawn "The Mines of the Many" (1x98) Novel continuing the creation myth of Wildemount "but it turned into the spirits of the gods, these two fauns, and they fell in love but could not be together because the dawn had to rise and the sun would shine." It is Maryanne Darrington's favorite book in the collection of her son Taryon, who also named it among his favorites. Both found it heartbreaking but very beautiful, and Maryanne said it reminded her of Taryon.[5]
The Mountain Range of Gold "The Mines of the Many" (1x98) Three-part novel series that features a character who dies in the first novel, then returns halfway through the second more powerful and in white robes. The novels are in Taryon's collection, and both Maryanne and Taryon found them wonderful.[6] A reference to The Lord of the Rings, in which Gandalf the Grey is apparently killed in the Mines of Moria in The Fellowship of the Ring but returns as Gandalf the White in The Two Towers.
In the Belly of Dragons: The Legend of Scanlan Shorthalt and Vox Machina "The Chapter Closes" (1x115) Written by Scanlan Shorthalt in the year immediately following their adventures, it tells the epic story of Vox Machina from their meeting to saving the world and everything in between.[7] It was later adapted into a one-man musical revue of the same name.[8]

Campaign Two[]

Title First appearance Description
The Rosed Embrace "A Show of Scrutiny" (2x02) Likely a romance novel. Written in Zemnian by Samuel, full name not given. Vosna took issue when it is described as trashy and insisted that it is tasteful.[9]
Zemnian Nights "Zemnian Nights" (2x11) Smut novel. Described by bookseller Iva Deshin as "very popular". For sale at the Chastity's Nook.[10]
The Enchanting Tryst "Zemnian Nights" (2x11) "Fantastical" smut novel. For sale at the Chastity's Nook.[10]

Tusk Love "Zemnian Nights" (2x11) Smut novel about the daughter of traveling merchants, who disapprove of her romantic relationship with a half-orc man.[11] Purchased by Jester Lavorre at the Chastity's Nook for 3 silver.[12] A magically conjured copy is included in a stack of books on each bedroom nightstand in Widogast's Nascent Nein-Sided Tower.[13]
Guard of My Heart "Zemnian Nights" (2x11) Smut novel about "a dynamic of honor versus what the heart wants". The cover features the Crownsguard crest.[14] Described by Iva Deshin as "a classic love story" and gentler than other titles. For sale at the Chastity's Nook.[10]
Shallow Breaths "Zemnian Nights" (2x11) Smut novel, described out-of-character as akin to The Sleeping Beauty Quartet.[15] Purchased by Caleb Widogast at Chastity's Nook for 3 silver,[12] then promptly left under a tray at the bakery next door.[16]
Courting of the Crick "Zemnian Nights" (2x11) Historical fiction smut novel set during the Marrow War about a love affair between a male general, presumably Dwendalian, and a female Kryn Dynasty assassin sent to kill him. The cover is made of deerskin leather, and its style is compared out-of-character to The Silmarillion with "very dry" prose.[17][18] Banned in the Dwendalian Empire since 820 PD, but the Chastity's Nook secretly holds multiple copies.[19] Purchased by Jester at the Chastity's Nook for 15 gold[12] for Caleb, who was disinterested in it, and given to Beauregard Lionett.[20] A magically conjured copy is included in a stack of books on each bedroom nightstand in Widogast's Nascent Nein-Sided Tower.[13]
The Daring Trials and Tribulations of Sir Taryon Darrington "Lost & Found" (2x13) Largely fictionalized memoir by Taryon Darrington about his life after leaving Deastok.[21]
Journal of Siff Duthar "Where The River Goes" (2x15) Personal journal written in Draconic during the Age of Arcanum. Writing in panicked and fearful ramblings, Siff spoke about a coming war (what will become the Calamity), his fear of Torog, and destroying his research to keep it away from the armies of Ghor Dranas. A portion of the book was burned and destroyed. Found by Caleb,[22] and ultimately given to the Gentleman.[23]
Spellbook of Siff Duthar "Where The River Goes" (2x15) Spellbook from the Age of Arcanum. Siff attempted to burn the book, successfully destroying its second half.[24] Jester made the book whole again through Mending but could not restore its contents.[25]
Feathered Leather "Have Bird, Will Travel" (2x23) Fiction novel. Uma Cole's reluctance to talk about the book implies it is a smut novel.[26]

The Salty Sea "Homeward Bound" (2x48) Romance novel about two sailors who meet repeatedly in different ports throughout the Swavain Islands who find themselves fighting for opposite sides, one in the Revelry and the other in the Clovis Concord navy. The conflict is not enough to keep them apart, and they are eventually together. Purchased by Caleb from the Front to Back bookstore in Nicodranas for 2 silver.[28] After Caleb finished it, he gave it to Jester.[29] Matt intentionally did not state the gender of each sailor to leave it to interpretation, but he imagined it as a same-sex relationship.[30]
Two cookbooks "Homeward Bound" (2x48) Cookbooks about pastries and mushrooms. Purchased by Jester from the Front to Back bookstore as gifts for Caduceus.
The King that Crawls "Agreements" (2x61) A weathered book[31] named after one of the Betrayer Gods, the Crawling King.[32] It was in possession of Vence Nuthaleus who read in an inquisitive manner, making notes, going from page to page.[33]

Fake journal of Vespin Chloras "Breaking and Entering..." (3x20) Actually written by Evon Hytroga, the fake is displayed as an authentic relic in his Twilight Mirror Museum.[35][36] The journal describes summoning demons and undead using power from ley lines and other dark rituals, though it eventually becomes narratively repetitive and ultimately ends in an ellipsis like every plaque in the museum.[37][36]
Unnamed "A Stage Set" (3x32) Discusses "The Care and Culling", an event during the Age of Arcanum during which automatons acting as caretakers and helpful companions were created and distributed throughout Exandria by Aeorian political figures to their rivals as ostensible peace offerings. The aeormatons suddenly killed the people they had been gifted to, making Aeorian technology henceforth incredibly suspect. It also discusses other history of technology.[38]
