Description[]

Appearance[]

Bobby is something of a late bloomer, even for a halfling, appearing younger than his actual age. He has messy brown hair and was wearing brown boots and gloves with green short pants and a shirt covered by a small leather tunic. He wore a little backpack and carried a belt pack of cards.[4]

Personality[]

Bobby was bubbly and excited by everything happening around him, and the polar opposite of "cool".[5] Despite his father Kent Plucker being obviously disinterested and slightly disparaging of him, he persisted in seeing their relationship in the best way possible and imagining it to be closer than it apparently was.[6]

Biography[]

Background[]

Bobby is the child of Kent Plucker, a bard and member of Dr. Dranzel's Spectacular Traveling Troupe. He apparently spends most of his time with his mother, visiting his disinterested father on rare occasions.

Bobby - Secret

At some point before 795 PD[7] Bobby was hired, along with other mercenaries, to protect the people of Drobaganos during the Musetide Festival. They became an adventuring group that the other halfling, Sarge, dubbed "the Glorious Ones". While trying to help a local woman called Ligeia, Bobby noticed that an egg he had found on the beach was cracking in his backpack, and the warlock Ranthiel Volthor used Eldritch Blast on it, sending it very far into the jungle. Shortly after retrieving it (unchanged by the attack or the impact), they found the Grove of Enlightenment, where they took a sentient apple. Later some [[[kobold]]s attacked the Glorious Ones, and when the fight was over Bobby healed Ran.

When the group finally arrived to the shore, Ligeia was received by two other women, but the three of them revealed to be sirens and after magically charming Bobby they took him with them to sacrifice him in a cave. He started filling a chalice with his own blood as part of a ritual to control a crab entity called the Dreamer, but it was disturbed when the mercenaries disturbed the process, allowing Bobby to recover control over his own body and mind. Angered, he joined his friends in battle, transforming into an alpaca and later casting Conjure Animals to summon a walrus; he also healed Scanlan after he was knocked unconscious, and summoned his bear totem spirit to strengthen his allies. The Glorious Ones managed to kill the sirens and (with some help he got by consuming the sentient apple) Sarge also killed the Dreamer. It was after returning to Drobaganos with crab meat that they discovered that the Dreamer was in fact a protective spirit for the villagers. To avoid problems in case they discovered the great crab was dead, the Glorious Ones decided to sail to Tal'Dorei with Dr. Dranzel's Spectacular Traveling Troupe, and Bobby went with them, since it was legally required he stayed with his father for two more weeks anyway.

  7. "Choose Their Adventure...Again!" (Sx81) takes place in a time in Scanlan's life when he's still inexpert and lacks confidence, and by the end of it he's trying to behave more like the charismatic Ranthiel Volthor. Since between 795 and 796 PD Scanlan had a messy affair with a member of the Darrington Estate staff that forced the bard and his troupe to leave, presumably the gnome's time with the Glorious Ones preceded this incident in Deastok.
