The Blast Scepter is a magical rod owned by Yussa Errenis and loaned to the Mighty Nein to aid them in their fight against Lucien and the living city of Cognouza.
Description[]
Appearance[]
The Blast Specter owned by Yussa Errenis is a distinctive gold scepter. It spirals a little from its handle around a hollow center, ending in a talon or hook of opal.[2]
Properties[]
- The attuned wielder has resistance to fire and lightning damage.[2][3]
- As an action, the wielder can cast Thunderwave at 4th-level (DC 16) without expending a spell slot.[2][3]
- It can be used as an arcane focus.[3]
History[]
- "The Neverending Day" (2x125): The Mighty Nein requested aid from Yussa Errenis against Lucien and the living city of Cognouza. Though he declined to journey with them to Aeor, he gave them items he did not currently need to help them, including the Blast Scepter. He requested they return it once the threat had been eliminated.[2] Veth Brenatto later attempted to de-attune from the Corecut Dagger to attune to the Blast Scepter. Her reluctance and inability to trade the dagger for the scepter alerted the rest of the group that the dagger was cursed.[4]
- "Sarsaparilla, Licorice, and Red Hot" (2x127): The Blast Scepter halved the lightning damage Veth took when she was hit by a rebounding Lightning Bolt cast by Caleb Widogast.[5]
- "Between a Ball and a Hot Place" (2x129): While in the Elemental Plane of Fire, Veth instructed her husband Yeza to take a scepter, presumably the Blast Scepter, and attune to it as a precaution, stating that she did not currently need it.[6]
- "Fond Farewells" (2x141): Veth returned the scepter to Yussa several days after the Nein returned from Eiselcross.[7]
- "The Mighty Nein Reunion: Echoes of the Solstice" (Sx79): Prior to Bells Hells' confrontation with Trent Ikithon in 843 PD, Jester gave Fjord a blast scepter, although presumably not the same one that belonged to Yussa. It halved the damage Fjord took from a Fireball cast by Ikithon.[8]
