Baryn Vestisho is a female half-elven doctor of Exandrian history from Othanzia. As an NPC, Baryn is played by Matthew Mercer.
Description[]
In 843 PD when Bells Hells encountered her, Baryn was thin, had thick black shoulder-length hair, thick glasses, and silver elven scroll tattoos around her eyes. She was wearing pants and a green blouse. She appeared to be in her 40s.
Biography[]
Baryn is a doctor of Exandrian history from Othanzia, and specializes in research on The Founding and The Schism - in other words, the most ancient of histories. She was one of three people who sometime before 843 PD became aware of inconsistencies in the promulgated histories of Ruidus, the other two being Arnold Drot and Janina. She and the others broke into the temple of Erathis in Vasselheim[1] and stole secret ancient texts referring to the two forgotten gods Vordo and Ethedok, their destruction by the entity Predathos, and Predathos's subsequent imprisonment in the newly-created red moon Ruidus. Drot was captured during the break-in and likely remains in the hands of the Platinum Sanctuary, while Baryn and Janina escaped to Marquet.[2] Baryn believed that the judicators that had recently arrived in Yios were looking for them.[3]
Baryn was with Ebenold Kai in the cellar of his home when Bells Hells broke in. They fled to Planerider Ryn's office in the Elemental Plane of Fire,[4] and were left there without a means of escape when Ryn was later turned to stone while scouting the Tishtan excavation site.[5] However, since after the apogee solstice Ebenold was present in Whitestone,[6] it is possible that Baryn was rescued as well.
