Azmog was the vampiric hobgoblin commander of the garrison of the Steel Keep, a prison camp in Rybad-Kol near the end of the Calamity. As an NPC, Azmog was played by Brennan Lee Mulligan.
Description[]
When he appeared on the walls of the fortress prison addressing the prisoners, Azmog wore black armor.[1] He had coiffed hair and distinctive ears.[2]
Azmog was cruel and ruthless, willing to kill casually and seeing the prisoners as cattle to be controlled, used up, and disposed of.
Biography[]
"Give and Take" (E4x01)[]
Sundering Lord Azmog addressed the thousand assembled prisoners on their knees before him, telling them that soon they would be marching to fight in the final defeat of the Prime Deities in the forces of the Strife Emperor. The All-Hammer, the Platinum Dragon, and the Moonweaver were already dead, and soon the rest would be, too. The hobgoblin prisoner in his grasp, a secret follower of the Changebringer who had preached the hope for change, was forced to recant under the threat of his family being killed before his eyes, but Azmog cruelly killed him anyway, licking the viscera from his fingers before sending the prisoners back to work.
Later that evening, Azmog gave a dinner for several visiting dignitaries, during which they frankly discussed that the war between the gods had not been going well for the Betrayers recently. He had had to increase the number of executions recently to keep down negative speculation and unrest. Later that night, a great battle of the gods took place at Rybad-Kol, and the vampiric Sundering Lord was struck down by the light of the Dawnfather.
Relationships[]
Azmog was a worshipper and fought on the side of The Strife Emperor during the final battles of the Calamity.

Quotations[]
- "Hope is a dangerous thing. Cruel and painful. Hope, that which corrodes the soul and weakens the spirit, that sharpest and most painful barb. It can drive you to madness if you let it. [...] If pain is what you feel, then it is the comfort of despair you must seek. Surrendering hope is the only balm you will ever know. Some would tell you otherwise. They are fools."[3]
