Arioch, Duke of Chaos is an entity worshiped in the town of Bladegarden. In 835 PD , the temple dedicated to Arioch was attacked and severely damaged by Madrak and his accomplices.[4] Lucky Jack is a human acolyte of Arioch from Bladegarden.[5]

In the fantasy universe created by British author Michael Moorcock, Arioch is one of the most powerful of the Dukes of Hell. He has many titles and nicknames including Knight of the Swords, Lord of the Higher Hell, and Lord of the Seven Darks. He is sophisticated and highly intelligent, though possibly insane, and he frequently appears as a beautiful youth, usually with blond hair.[6] He created the Mabden, to which Stephen Colbert referred during "Dignity: An Adventure with Stephen Colbert" (Sx67) ("He was an acolyte to Arioch, Duke of Chaos. On whom the Mabden crawl like lice."[7]).
