Annaline is a human weretiger. As an NPC, Annaline is played by Matthew Mercer.

Description[]

When first encountered by Bells Hells, Annaline was in the form of a wide-shouldered deep red-orange weretiger standing six and a half feet tall and carrying a massive iron-headed hammer. She wore dark grey-brown hide armor and a jet black hood.[3] In her human form, she was a woman in her late 40s with short dark red hair with gray streaks, an intense expression, and a severe, perpetually clenched jaw.[4]

Biography[]

Background[]

Divaasheela - Tyler Walpole

In her past life, before she became a lycanthrope, Annaline's name was Divaasheela. She was a student at the Dayal Hall in Jrusar and therefore knew the Dayal family. She was sent to retrieve a mislabeled delivery from her uncle in the northeast Oderan Wilds when she was attacked by a lycan (which she suspects was connected in some way with the Ivory Syndicate). When the curse found her, she left the city, took the name "Annaline", and was trained in the ways of the Gorgynei by Ometho, one of the founders of the group.[5]

She told Chetney if he ever encountered the lycan who transmitted the curse to her, a pale, brown-haired elf named Dorao with amber eyes and a scar under his mouth to the left, Chetney should kill him immediately for her.[6]

"Compulsions" (3x40)[]

Annaline (in her weretiger form) confronted the party when they howled at dusk in the Gloomed Jungles, seeking the Gorgynei. Chetney Pock O'Pea told her he was seeking an audience with Divaasheela and was sent by Ajit Dayal in Jrusar. Annaline told them she was indeed Divaasheela, which they used as a code name to identify legitimate seekers of the Gorgynei. Annaline demanded Chetney prove his lycanthropy, and when he flamboyantly did so, she accepted him based on his friendship with Ajit despite her skepticism.

Annaline led them to the village of Barinak, a collection of jungle treehouses connected by rope bridges and ladders. She recognized that Chetney was already familiar with hemocraft and had taken the Hunter's Bane. Normally, there would be many weeks of training ahead for him, but he was under time pressure from the approaching Apogee solstice. Annaline had dinner brought and they talked further, and she suggested going in the morning to the temple of Sahyaadon, the Zha'Vrollo, so that Chetney could be tested. After some discussion, the party agreed.

"Call of the Wild" (3x41)[]

Annaline was one of the group from Barinak escorting the party to the temple. When they camped for the night, she spoke to Chetney about his goals, about the difficulties of life with the blessing/curse of lycanthropy, and about her past.
